Improve basic dance skills, learn social dancing etiquette, meet a diverse group of people, burn calories and have a wonderful time!
Course Requirements:
Enter this class with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and socialize with other dancers. If you do not have dance shoes, bring comfortable shoes. You can use any type of ballroom dance shoes; jazz, socks, leather sole or shoes with suede soles.
Rationale:
Dancing should be fun and carefree. I’m a passionate dancer, for me living doesn't exist without rhythm or moving one’s body. However, in terms of social dancing, often times new dancers get frustrated and stop dancing for various reasons. With that in mind, it's time to offer non dancers and the occasional dancer a welcoming, fun, and creative format to learning the basic ... Tribal Fusion Belly Dance is for dancers of all shapes, sizes, and genders.
Tribal Fusion combines the techniques of American Tribal Style, Hip Hop, Classic Westernized dance, American Cabaret Bellydance and much more to create a style that is modern, serpentine, and smooth, Tribal Fusion Belly Dance also uses some of the same movement principles from traditional forms such as Flamenco, Kathak, Odissi, and other folkloric and classical dance styles. This class is perfect for anyone wanting to try something new, even if you're a beginner or experienced dancer. Wed 11/20, 5-6:30 pm. Waltz on Wednesdays is the Rosa B's regular weekly practice for anyone who wants to learn or improve their Cross-Step Waltz or other waltz steps taught by Richard Powers recently in Gainesville.
Waltz sessions are led by Patrick Harrigan, an adept in soft martial arts. Patrick has been doing cross-step waltz for the past six years and now also coaches individuals and couples, beginners and experienced waltzers alike, in the basics of cross-step waltz.

Start your tango journey with the UF Argentine Tango Club. You’ll be challenged to think and move using tango ideas with an engaging and diverse group. You will do individual exercises and partner activities to explore what tango is all about.
Classes will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays during the Fall semester, with some exceptions so be sure to check each week.
Where: Most classes will be held in Dance Studio B, located in the basement of the Reitz Union. A few will be held in Studio A next door to B. So be sure to just check the schedule information at the door if you are unsure.
What to wear: If you own a pair of salsa shoes or jazz/ballet flats, those work great. If not, bring a thick pair of socks to dance in. Fancy shoes are not necessary and please avoid flip flops or tennis shoes.

Fri 11/22, 8:30-11:30 pm. Get excited. Florida Swing Dancing Club invites you to join us again Friday, November 22nd at the Reitz Union Dance Studios for some swing dancing. This event is only $5 and will help us bring more dancing events to Gainesville. You may come alone or with a group of friends. Coming with a dance partner is not necessary and no prior dance experience is required.
Lessons start at 8:30 pm and the social dance will start at 9:30 pm and end at 11:30 pm.
Dances studios are located on the lower level (LL) of the Reitz Student Union. If you are off campus you can park in the Reitz Union Parking Garage or surrounding lots, it's free after 4:30 pm. No parking decal required.

Nia empowers people of all shapes and sizes to connect to their body, mind, emotions and spirit by paying attention to sensation.
This one-hour class is perfect for all levels of experience and fitness.

Start your tango journey with the UF Argentine Tango Club. You’ll be challenged to think and move using tango ideas with an engaging and diverse group. You will do individual exercises and partner activities to explore what tango is all about.

Tango.
Start your tango journey with the UF Argentine Tango Club. You’ll be challenged to think and move using tango ideas with an engaging and diverse group. You will do individual exercises and partner activities to explore what tango is all about.
Classes will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays during the Fall semester, with some exceptions so be sure to check each week.
Where: Most classes will be held in Dance Studio B, located in the basement of the Reitz Union. A few will be held in Studio A next door to B. So be sure to just check the schedule information at the door if you are unsure.
What to wear: If you own a pair of salsa shoes or jazz/ballet flats, those work great. If not, bring a thick pair of socks to dance in. Fancy shoes are not necessary and please avoid flip flops or tennis shoes.

Course Requirements:
Enter this class with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and socialize with other dancers. If you do not have dance shoes, bring comfortable shoes. You can use any type of ballroom dance shoes; jazz, socks, leather sole or shoes with suede soles.
Rationale:
Dancing should be fun and carefree. I’m a passionate dancer, for me living doesn't exist without rhythm or moving one’s body. However, in terms of social dancing, often times new dancers get frustrated and stop dancing for various reasons. Wed 12/18, 5-6:30 pm. Waltz on Wednesdays is the Rosa B's regular weekly practice for anyone who wants to learn or improve their Cross-Step Waltz or other waltz steps taught by Richard Powers recently in Gainesville.
Waltz sessions are led by Patrick Harrigan, an adept in soft martial arts. Patrick has been doing cross-step waltz for the past six years and now also coaches individuals and couples, beginners and experienced waltzers alike, in the basics of cross-step waltz.
