Jason Tanz and Jeff Chang In the past 20 years, hip-hop has gone from being the language of the inner city to a dominant national and international art form. Explore how hip-hop grew and where it’s going and how artists, activists and soccer moms are using and reinventing hip-hop just as they are reinvented by it. Jason Tanz is the author of Other People’s Property: A Shadow History of Hip-Hop in White America. American Book Award-winner Jeff Chang is the editor of Total Chaos: The Art and Aesthetics of Hip-Hop and the author of Can’t Stop Won’t Stop: A History of the Hip-Hop Generation.
