What: Sparks of Glory free concert series: Starring baritone Morgan Smith, Israeli composer Aharon Harlap’s powerful Letters Weeping in Fire — a song cycle on the fiery road that led from book-burning to genocide, and a work that interacts with SAAM’s exhibit “Shu: Reinventing Books in Contemporary Chinese Art.” Artistic Director Mina Miller also introduces a dance from Czech composer Hans Krása, composed at the “model” concentration camp Terezin, and a string quartet from the brilliant Erwin Schulhoff, killed at the Wülzburg concentration camp.
