Made on the streets (and basketball courts) of Elmhurst, Queens, Tanuj Chopra’s acclaimed debut, which premiered at Sundance, is a powerful Asian-American youth drama made with a distinctive visual style. The film follows the struggles of Mameet, a South Asian teenager, after the death of his brother during a hold-up at the family store. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the director.
