Elie Wiesel, a survivor of Auschwitz is one of the most famous authors and human rights activists of our time. After the war he studied in Paris and became a journalist. During this time he was persuaded to write about his experiences in the death camps. The result was his internationally acclaimed memoir, Night, which has since been translated into more than thirty languages.
