Come early for a drink at the bar or a delicious pre-concert dinner that is included in a special concert/dinner package price. The Makor Café/bar opens at 6 PM. In 1889, Claude Debussy first heard the mesmerizing sounds and intricate, overlapping rhythms of a Javanese gamelan ensemble. The encounter forever changed the way he approached music. Debussy became perhaps one of the first western composers to consider the whole world as inspiration as he internalized those exotic sounds to create his own style.
