Panel Discussion on the Life and Music of Edwin Geist, 2:00 p.m. Concert 4 p.m. In a special collaboration with the German Consulate, Goethe Institut of Boston, and the Brandeis University Department of Music and Center for German and European Studies, German soprano Verena Rein will be joined by the Brandeis University Irving Fine Society singers and Boston area musicians to present the seldom-heard music of Edwin Geist (1902-1944). Geist was a teacher, journalist, composer and conductor in Germany before being killed by the Nazis in Lithuania.
