Voice of Israel Initiative of New Hampshire (Vision) presents Saturday, November 8th, 7 PM at the JFNH Federation Building In 1945 there were up to one million Jews living in the Middle East and North Africa outside the Palestine Mandate - many living in communities dating back more than three millennia. Today, there are several thousand. Hear a first hand account of what happened to Israel Bonan, an Egyptian Jew and his family in early June of 1967, on the first day of the Six Day War. Follow their steps from jail to jail and finally onto a freighter to reach first safe haven. Unimaginable hardships where imposed on the Jews living in Arab countries for one basic reason, their religion. Golabek, whose mother was saved by the Kindertransport that took her from Vienna to London during World War II, tells her mother’s story of survival and passion for music. The seminar will be held Tuesday evenings, October 28, November 4, 11 and 18 at St. Johnsbury Academy’s Grace Stuart Orcutt Library in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. It is open to the public free of charge.
