Thursday, February 4, 2010 10:30am-2:30pm (Brown bag lunch Noon-12:30pm) The Gingerbread Lady by Neil Simon Moderator: Barbara Lavery Tickets: $10 It was written in 1970 by Neil Simon specifically for Maureen Stapleton, who won both the Tony Award and Drama Desk Award for her performance. The play is a dark drama with comic overtones centering on a cabaret singer whose career, marriage and health have all been destroyed by alcohol. After completing a ten-week stint in a rehab facility, she returns home to the welcome of friends and her daughter all who have their own problems which she must grapple with as she deals with her own ever-present addiction.
