Sam was born in Krakow, Poland in 1921. During the Nazi regime he suffered slave labor, ghetto confinement, and concentration camp horror. More than fifty members of his immediate and extended family were killed. And yet, despite the pain he has faced, Sam's story is one of triumph and hope.
