Jewish Genetic Diseases Center Education and Screening Event

We screen for a series of genetic diseases found in the Ashkenazi Jewish population. Armed with knowledge of their carrier status, individuals will be able to take steps to minimize the risk of having a child with a tragic, often fatal disease. To date almost 20% of those we have screened have been found to be carriers of one or more of the 9 diseases.

Education and a session with a certified genetic counselor are part of the screening event.
