American Jews, Christian Zionists Zev Chafets Zev Chafets examines American Christian and evangelical leaders’ support of Israel and explores the myths and realities surrounding the ever-changing relationship between evangelical Christians and Jews. Chafets, the former communications director for Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and a columnist for the New York Daily News, looks at the possibilities of a Judeo-Christian alliance and describes his encounters with Jerry Falwell, Jewish cadets at West Point, the Pentecostal priest of Wall Street, anti-Evangelical Jewish Democrats and others. Chafets is the author of A Match Made in Heaven: American Jews, Christian Zionists, and One Man’s Exploration of the Weird and Wonderful Judeo-Evangelical Alliance.
