This trail in Hudson Highlands State Park makes a rugged ascent from river-level and follows a rolling ridge on its way to a lookout above the Hudson River. Vistas include the river, the Shawangunk and Catskill mountains, an old fire lookout tower, a mixed forest and wildflowers. Pack a picnic lunch, plenty of water, and dress in layers and hiking boots.
